‘The Peasants‘ is based upon the Nobel Prize-winning novel by Wladyslaw Reymont and is directed by Oscar® nominated Dorota Kobiela. The movie is created in the same painting animation technique that won the hearts all over the world with ‘Loving Vincent’ and presents a wide repertoire of realist and pre-impressionist paintings with an emphasis on the Young Poland Movement.

In order to take part in the recruitment process you will need to send us your portfolio – please make use of the application form below. The received portfolios will be judged on technique and artistic merit, and the chosen candidates will be invited for 3-day painting and animation tests.
The tests will focus on your painting ability and the way you handle painting animation. During these 3 days you will paint a short animation, working in our Painting Animation Work Stations (PAWS). Tests will take place in our studio in Sopot (PL).
During this 120-hour painting animation training, you will learn how to animate using our PAWS as well as using Dragonframe animation software. Training will take place in our studio in Sopot (PL), dates and organizational details will be announced after the tests.
Breakthru Films Sp. Z o.o. does not cover the costs of accommodation and travel during tests or training.
